Supernova

An incredible explosion of color and motion fills this canvas -- broad, confident strokes of cobalt blue slice vertically near the center, anchoring a composition otherwise given over to warm explosions of yellow ochre and fire-engine red. Thick swathes of magenta and crimson collide with cooler teals and aquas, while patches of burnt umber and gray provide brief, grounding pauses. Some areas are heavily worked and impastoed, ridged with texture. Others are scraped back to reveal under layers, creating depth and a sense of collage.

Diagonals and overlapping rectangles create an energetic geometry, but the piece never feels rigid: irregular edges, smudges and splatters breathe spontaneity into the structure.
