Our artist’s canvases feature painted sides from 1 1/2 to 4-inches deep, giving observers a full 180-degree experience. Chandler finishes each canvas with a non-toxic varnish which gives them a satin finish, protects the artwork and makes them cleanable. Canvases are wired and ready-to-hang, either as-is for a more contemporary look. Some works are offered already framed; details are featured in the description of each work. For unframed works on canvas, the artist can suggest moulding color and style.
Most works on paper are matted (float mounted on acid-free board to show the work’s deckled-edge, then single or double-matted). Mats are generally 2 1/2 to 3 inches wide with a 1/2 to 1-inch margin around the art. In the bottom margin, the artist often handwrites in pencil the work’s title. To determine whether a work is matted and/or framed, view its description in ARTWORK.

Yes, I provide a Certificate of Authenticity for every original and limited edition that I create. These documents are more than just pieces of paper; they are the gatekeepers of an item’s legitimacy, providing assurance to collectors that what they purchase is genuine. They also serve multiple purposes such as verifying provenance, safeguarding against fraud and determining value.
There is no specific amount of time, since each work is unique in its creation. But to try and answer your question, Chandler’s paintings have taken from 1–3 months, and some have been completed in 2–3 weeks.
Chandler says that he is “inspired by the complete freedom of the abstract form.” Driven by his intuition, his larger than life paintings are jazz-like, poetic, strong, boldly colored and balanced. Until he makes that first mark on the canvas or paper, he doesn’t know what colors or shapes he will use, which adds an authentic, honest and organic layer to his work. His inspiration comes from gestural action, human experiences and emotions, rituals, narratives of everyday life and the subconscious mind, as well as the tradition of Abstract Expressionism. Not tied to one approach, his work incorporates many different styles of abstraction.Chandler respects and admires a host of Abstract, Expressionist, Collage and Color-field Painters. Chief among them are Varnette Honeywood, Sam Gilliam, Jackson Pollock, Romare Bearden, Jacob Lawrence, Picasso and Peter Paul Rubens.
